Our Bank
Security State Bank is located in Guttenberg, Iowa, in Northeastern
Iowa along the Mississippi River in Clayton County. It was formed
in 1942 when Guttenberg State Bank and Clayton County State
Bank consolidated. The bank serves Guttenberg and the surrounding
area. Since the community is 40 miles north of Dubuque on Highway
52, many customers are from rural Iowa and are involved in agriculture.
SSB has always been a family owned and operated community bank.
Today, our bank offers a complete line of the latest financial
services available in the marketplace.
SSB has 12 full time employees dedicated to outstanding customer
service. Employees tend to be longtime employees at our bank,
many having been servicing our customers for more than 20 years.
Customers know they can count on SSB's professional staff to
help make sound financial decisions. Plus, decisions are made
right here locally, not by some far away bank holding company
without community ties.
SSB employees are involved in all aspects of the community,
including education, churches, volunteer organizations, and
economic development. You'll find our bank employees everywhere
from the baseball diamond to the local grocery store. In addition
to people resources, SSB heavily invests its financial resources
